Hi. I am Manny Amador, a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the residential air conditioning industry. My journey began in the late 1990s as an helper/attic-rat, where an opportunity to learn about AC systems came about; and it ignited a lifelong passion for the trade and a commitment to continuous growth.
Through determination and hard work, I progressed through various roles, including installer, duct installer, maintenance technician, service technician, and even some duct cleaning. Each position sharpened my technical skills and deepened my understanding of the industry. I started to realize the importance of quality customer service and effective communication.
A pivotal moment in my career came when I transitioned into sales. Recognizing the potential for professional and financial growth—especially as I was starting a family— I committed to ongoing learning through research, boot camps and training sessions. This transformation turned me from a college dropout into a confident leader focused on making a meaningful impact.
In sales, I aimed to be an invaluable asset to the company while upholding my core values of honesty and integrity. I honed my ability to study customers and address customer concerns/objections transparently, which played a crucial role in driving the company’s success.
In 2008, I was promoted to a managerial position during a challenging national recession. Despite these difficulties, our team achieved one of the best years in the company’s history. This experience ignited my passion for m. They presented me with an offer I couldn't refuse. They had zero marketing strategy, zero online presence, no sales structure, minimal margins and it was very stale. The relied heavily on a few large commercial accounts and a loyal customer base built over decades. However, the ownership recognized that their traditional methods were becoming outdated and they were not sure they can sustain long term profitability or any success hey needed a spark to revive the business—I was that spark.
By 2012, our company had doubled in size, acquiring a new facility and a fleet of trucks, which allowed us to expand our operations into a new market. My contributions during this growth period earned me a promotion to oversee operations in this new market, a role I held successfully for four years. Ultimately, personal family matters led me to leave my place of employment of nearly two decades, to pursue my entrepreneurial ambitions.
Starting my own business was challenging. The process was slow, with highs few and far between. I was on the right track and things began to happen.
In May 2018, an unexpected opportunity presented itself. I was offered the position of service manager at a well-established local company—a family-owned operation with about 30 employees and in business for nearly 40 years. They presented me with an offer I couldn't refuse. They had zero marketing strategy, zero online presence, no sales structure, minimal margins and it was very stale. The relied heavily on a few large commercial accounts and a loyal customer base built over decades. However, the ownership recognized that their traditional methods were becoming outdated and they were not sure they can sustain long term profitability or any success They needed a spark to revive the business—I was that spark.
I spent the first couple of weeks immersing myself in their operations and getting to know the team, both in the field and the office. Within weeks, my presence was felt throughout the organization. I fostered a culture of communication, understanding, and goal-setting for all employees.
In my first eight months, residential sales surged by nearly 700%, surpassing the combined residential revenue of the previous three years. Our ac sales training program was working and working well. The foundation was laid, a solid business plan was established, and the results became consistent and sustainable.
However, the challenges of 2020 ultimately led to my departure in early 2021.
By early 2023, both companies I had dedicated over two decades to were sold for well over seven figures each—one approaching eight figures. While the conclusion of these ventures wasn't ideal for me, I take pride in knowing that my contributions significantly enhanced their value.
Today, I am passionate about empowering motivated individuals to achieve financial success for themselves and their employers. For the last fifteen years of my career, when asked what I do best, my answer has been, “I make people money.”
